Concessions

Objective

To give some financial help (solace) to those who are registered with any of the employment exchanges of Punjab for more than three years and have not been able to get any assistance.

Target Set (For the last year)

No target is set as it is tried to give to the maximum number possible.

Eligibility

Educated (matric and above) unemployed persons registered with an employment exchanges of Punjab state.

Criteria for the eligibility

Must be domicile of Punjab.

Must be registered with the Employment Exchange for at least 3 Years (Physically handicapped become eligible after one year of registration and deaf and dumb and blind from the time of registration)

Should be in the age group of 17 to 40 years.

Should neither be a regular student nor having any income of his own.

Should not have more than Rs. 12000/- annually as family income.

Must apply for allowance within a specified period.

Can avail this benefit for total 3 Years.

Pre-requisites

The eligible candidate has to bring his registration card along with the following forms filled in original and in attested form.

Procedure to avail the benefits

The candidates who are registered with any of the employment exchanges in Punjab for three years or more are informed by the concerned employment exchange through a letter about other conditions also to claim the unemployment allowance. In case he/she considers himself/ herself eligible for the same, he/ she contacts the exchange personally to complete all the formalities before claiming unemployment allowance.

Time limit for the concession/ permits/ authorization

Time limit of availing the unemployment allowance is three years from the registration and it can be claimed for total three years only.

Application format:-

Application Form for Claiming Unemployment Allowance to be sent to Employment Exchange where an unemployed Educated Person Is Registered.

Documents to be attached with the application forms are :-

(i)

Three specimen signatures, duly attested by a Gazetted Officer.

(ii)

Domicile Certificate issued by a competent authority (This Certificate is needed given by the residents of Punjab but living at Chandigarh.

(iii)

An affidavit duly attested by a Magistrate/Oath Commissioner in support of his/her claim for unemployment allowance.

(iv)

A Medical Certificate from Medical Officer of Government Hospital/Dispensary (To be furnished duly be blind, deaf and dumb, applicants registered with the special Employment Exchange for Physically Handicapped persons, Punjab, Chandigarh.

(v)

A certificate of being of Punjab origin (to be furnished by blind, deaf and dumb applicants only)

(vi)

Three Passport size photographs of the applicants, “duly attested by a Gazetted officer.

(iv)

Domicile Certificate issued by a competent authority (This Certificate is needed given by the residents of Punjab but living at Chandigarh.

An affidavit duly attested by a Magistrate/Oath Commissioner in support of his/her claim for unemployment allowance.

A certificate of being of Punjab origin (to be furnished by blind, deaf and dumb applicants only)
