| A person is registered as a sportsperson if he produces a certificate to this effect, issued by the competent officer of the Directorate of Sports Punjab. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| As per the rules framed vide Punjab Govt. Gazette Notification dated 12th February 1988, 3% of vacancies to be filled in by direct appointment in all State Civil Services, are reserved for sports persons. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
